    Power System Overview

Cabinets are classified into AC cabinets and DC cabinets according to the types of input power for cabinets.

The input power for AC cabinets is AC power. It may be single-phase 220V current or three-phase 380V AC, but not all input power for devices/modules inside cabinets is AC. If a cabinet is equipped with AC/DC power components, DC equipment can be installed into AC cabinets. The input power for DC cabinets is DC power. It is generally -48V and the input power for devices/modules inside the cabinet is DC. However, in some cases, if a cabinet is equipped with an inverter (DC/AC power components), AC devices/modules can also be installed into DC cabinets.

However, the Power Distribution Specifications for Service and Software Products DKBA1315-2004.11 determines that only AC devices/modules can be installed into AC cabinets and only DC ones can be installed into DC cabinets. That is, AC devices/modules and DC ones cannot be mixed into one cabinet.

The power supply system for AC and DC cabinets is divided into AC cabinet power supply system and DC cabinet power supply system. AC cabinet power supply system is used to supply cabinets with AC power and DC system is to supply cabinets with DC power.

     Inverter and Power Cable

In the following situations, use inverters:

Customers cannot provide AC power and they can only provide -48V DC power or the AC power provided by customers is not stable but the provided -48V DC power is stable (such as the regions of Africa).

All power supply cabinets are single-phase input and the power sum of all power supply cabinets is not more than 15KVA.

Inverters can only be installed outside cabinets, not inside cabinets and only standalone inverters can be used.

At present, the following inverters are available to Huawei: 3KVA, 6KVA and 10KVA. The power leadin configuration is as follows:

Inverter
DC leadin
Protection ground cable
3KVA

1*16mm^2, blue, one piece
1*16mm^2, black, one piece
1*6mm^2, yellow and green, one piece
6 KVA
10KVA
1*35mm^2, blue, two pieces
1*35mm^2, black, two pieces
1*6mm^2, yellow and green, one piece

The default configuration terminals for DC leadins and protection ground cables are OT-xxmm^2-M8 terminals (xx is the cross-sectional area of cable cores) and they are three times as many as cable cores. For example, if one 1*16mm^2 blue cable is to be distributed for surveys, the default configuration is three OT-16mm^2-M8 terminals. Terminals are distributed to sites without processing.
